Electronics Recycling Event Saturday in Ashburn

Loudoun County has planned an Electronics Recycling Event from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 22, at the Telos Corporation parking lot, 19886 Ashburn Road, in Ashburn.

Accepted items include computers, cables, printers, televisions, stereo components, cell phones, electric power tools, extension cords, Christmas lights, small household appliances such as toasters and microwave ovens, curling irons, and other electronics.

A $12 recycling fee per television and $3 fee per computer monitor — which may be paid only by cash or check to CRS Holdings of America — will be collected. All other eligible electronics will be accepted free of charge, with a limit of 15 items per vehicle.

Items that organizers cannot accept include larger household appliances — such as refrigerators, freezers, dehumidifiers, air conditioners, ovens, stoves, washers and dryers — printer cartridges, batteries, light bulbs, fluorescent lights, thermostats and fire alarms.
