The Loudoun-Dulles Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #69 is a 501(c)3 charitable organization. We are holding our Annual Cops & Kids Golf Tournament Fundraiser on Monday, July 2, 2012. This tournament is dedicated to providing assistance to children right here in Loudoun County. All proceeds from this event will go to the Cops and Kids program, which has been making a difference in young peoples’ lives for more than a decade. Last year our organization was able to help 85 children in our community. This year, our goal is to increase the number of children we assist to 150. We are hoping that with your support, we will be able to achieve our goal.
The Cops & Kids program serves children that are identified through the county’s school system, and provides them the opportunity to experience all the holiday season has to offer. The children and their families are treated to a complete holiday style breakfast at Wegman’s, then join in a parade over to Target with volunteer members of the Loudoun-Dulles FOP, where they are able to buy necessities and a few gifts for the winter holiday season.
This year, we have decided to make the golf tournament our banner event and primary fundraiser. With the celebrations of Independence Day a few short days after our event, what better time to give thanks and give back by supporting our community and assisting so many children. After the tournament, there will be a dinner and awards banquet followed by a silent auction to conclude the day’s events.
