Cost-Effective Way to Dispose of Hazardous Waste

Loudoun County's Department of Construction & Waste Management will host a Business Hazardous Waste Program event from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm on Friday, October 14, 2011, at the Loudoun County Solid Waste Management Facility, 21101 Evergreen Mills Road, Leesburg.

The Business Hazardous Waste Program provides a cost-effective way for eligible county businesses, organizations, and agencies to dispose of small quantities of hazardous waste in an environmentally responsible manner and in compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations.  Businesses and organizations located in Loudoun County that generate less than 220 pounds of hazardous waste or 2.2 pounds of acute hazardous waste in a calendar month and never accumulate more than 2,200 pounds of hazardous waste at any time are eligible to participate in this program.

Participants will be pay a fee based on the type and volume of hazardous waste brought to the event for disposal.  Participants are required to register with the Department of Construction & Waste Management by close of business, Wednesday, October 12, 2011.   For more tips on participant eligibility, registration packets, and payment information, visit the county website at www.loudoun.gov/bhwp or call the Department of Construction and Waste Management at 703-777-0187.
