Loudoun Author Dixiane Hallaj Lauches Novel with Roaring Twenties Party

Loudoun novelist Dixiane Hallaj will launch her new novel, It’s Just Lola, at 7 p.m. Friday, Sept, 7, at Around the Block Books in Purcellville. To match the Roaring Twenties theme, the bookstore will be made into a speakeasy for the evening.

Breaux Vineyards, Around the Block Books, Chunk of Happiness Pottery, and the author have donated door prizes. Many attendees plan to dress in period costumes.

Hallaj has won many awards for her writing, both fiction and nonfiction. Based very loosely on the early life of her grandmother, It’s Just Lola is a story of drama and intrigue from the Andes to San Francisco, beginning in 1905 and ending with the stock market crash of 1929. The website http://www.itsjustlola.com tells more about the book and author.
