The Inova Loudoun Hospital Research Council is organizing The Nurses Living Fit™ (NLF) Third Annual 1 Mile or 5k Walk/Run event on Saturday, May 14 at the National Conference Center in Leesburg. A crowd of several hundred runners, walkers, nurses, families, and friends are expected to attend this family- and kid-friendly event. The community is invited to partcipate.
This event is led by the Inova Loudoun Hospital Research Council to support nursing research. Currently, Inova Loudoun Hospital is conducting research to improve standard of care, care delivery and patient outcomes. Proceeds from earlier events supported obesity research to decrease overweight in nurses. This research was modeled after the Kids Living Fit™ (KLF) study program, which helped children in our local public schools decrease overweight.
Inova Loudoun Hospital Mobile Health Services will provide free screenings for blood pressure, BMI, and glucose screening. Dr. Edward James of Ashburn, Virginia will review how he last 60 pounds recently. Former Redskins player Cliff Russell will be there to support the participants.
