Stranger Shot Victim After Dispute In Dulles Mall Food Court, Police Say
Authorities have released more information about Sunday afternoon's shooting at the Dulles Town Center Mall's food court.

LOUDOUN COUNTY, VA — A Leesburg man shot a stranger on Sunday after a dispute at the Dulles Town Center Mall's food court, according to the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office.
Authorities have not provided any additional information about the victim or his injuries. The sheriff's office noted that the victim is receiving treatment at an area hospital.
Investigators have identified the suspect as 31-year-old Alan Colie from Leesburg. Collie is charged with aggravated malicious wounding, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, and discharging a firearm within a building.

Colie is scheduled to appear in court for an arraignment at 11:15 a.m. on Monday. If convicted of all charges, he could face up to 33 years in prison, based on Virginia's sentencing guidelines.
The shooting occurred around 11:57 a.m. on Sunday. The sheriff's office said deputies were on the scene three minutes later, and they took the suspect into custody at 12:02 p.m.

Investigators believe that Colie and the suspect did not know each other. Instead, the shooting occurred after a dispute in the food court.
"LCSO deputies also checked the entire mall to ensure no other suspects or victims were present," the sheriff's office said. "Dulles Town Center management closed the mall for the remainder of the day."
