Former Members Accuse Local Church of Sexual Abuses: Media Reports
Loudoun County Sheriff's Office asking for information from the public.

Several former members of a controversial Sterling church have made allegations this week in local media outlets of sexual and psychological abuse at the church.
The Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office on Thursday confirmed that an investigation is taking place of alleged sexual abuse at the Calvary Temple Church. The office asked for the public’s help in the investigation.

However, no charges have been filed against anyone associated with the church.
In a newscast Thursday on WTTG-TV Channel 5, two former members accused the church of operating like a cult in brainwasheing members, and said it has sexually abused minors.

On Wednesday, the Loudoun Times-Mirror, a local newspaper, published an article in which former Calvary Temple members said they had been abused by people associated with the church.
In a story Thursday on the investigation, the Washington Post referred to its previous stories in recent years on former congregants’ criticisms of Calvary Temple and its pastor, Star R. Scott.
In a statement Thursday, Loudoun Sheriff Mike Chapman said, “We understand the concerns of the public, and we want to ensure everyone that we take all allegations of abuse seriously and these crimes will be investigated to their fullest extent.”
The statement announced that detectives from the sheriff’s Juvenile Sex Crimes Unit are asking anyone who has any information regarding the investigation to call the sheriff’s office’s Criminal Investigations Division at (703) 777-0475.
