Jury Questionnaires Sent To 50,000 Loudoun Residents For Upcoming Trials
The Loudoun County Circuit Court is sending out 50,000 questionnaires this month to determine eligible jurors for upcoming trials.
LOUDOUN COUNTY, VA — Jury questionnaires are being sent to 50,000 people in Loudoun County. The Loudoun County Circuit Court is looking to determine juror eligibility for jury trials in 2023.
Some of the jury questionnaire postcards have already been sent, while others will grace mailboxes by the end of the month.
Clerk of the Circuit Court Gary Clemens said the postcards contain a link to a website where residents can enter their information. Clemens said this process is cheaper and more efficient than full paper questionnaires.

"The jury questionnaire postcard is not a summons for jury duty,” Clemens said in a news release. "The questionnaire process is simply the first step to determine who is qualified to fulfill jury service in calendar year 2023."
The circuit court is asking residents to complete the questionnaire process quickly after they receive the postcard. The postcard will also provide information for those who are not able to fill out their information online.

"The timely participation of those who receive the questionnaires is beneficial to the efficiency of the qualification process and it helps the court system provide the constitutional guarantee of a jury trial to criminal and civil litigants," Clemens said. "I appreciate the cooperation of each resident who receives a juror questionnaire postcard."
