KKK Fliers Again Found In Loudoun County
Hate-espousing pamphlets under the imprimatur of the KKK have been found in several NoVa communities this week. Loudon's the latest.

LOUDOUN COUNTY, VA—Hate-espousing pamphlets under the imprimatur of the Klu Klux Klan have been found in several Northern Virginia communities this week, and the latest incidents were reported Friday morning in both Leesburg and Sterling, according to the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office.
The MO was the same as that used here and across the country the past several years: KKK recruitment pamphlets inside plastic bags weighed down by bird seed. One such baggie was found outside a Leesburg business, and others were found in Sterling neighborhoods on North Amelia Avenue and North Alder Avenue.
Earlier in the week, fliers were found in Alexandria and Arlington. Earlier this year, they were found in Leesburg and Round Hill. Same thing earlier this month in Prince William County. In January, Fredericksburg residents found them around the time of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.

There's little authorities can legally do. Leesburg Police said a couple of months ago they received complaints from several people, but inasmuch that there were no threatening messages in the bags, they were protected by free speech. In Frederickburg's incidents, a spokesman said whoever left the fliers could be charged with misdemeanor littering but that's about it.
Virginia Rep. Barbara Comstock nevertheless weighed in on the matter:

Our community continues to be subject to this anonymous KKK propaganda – with the latest being this morning's distribution of KKK flyers. The cowards who pollute our neighborhoods with this material should be exposed and...who supports them should be brought to light. #VA10 pic.twitter.com/Xf1r2veHNx

Several similar incidents have happened across the country, include one last spring in Texas, where recruiting fliers for the Klan were disguised in a bag of candy and distributed to 17 homes in Texas City. Tucked inside the plastic bags of candy was a message written in bold black letters from the Loyal White Knights of the Klu Klux Klan that read: "Help save our race! Join the best or die like the rest" and "Say No To Cultural Genocide."
The Klan has long been recognized as one of the most vile hate groups in the United States, judged so by, among others, The Southern Poverty Law Center.
