Logo Contest for Loudoun County Animal Services Ends May 31.
Formerly known as the Animal Care & Control agency, the new image would reflect new name.
Less than two weeks remain to submit ideas for a new logo for the former Loudoun County Animal Care & Control department. The agency recently changed its name to Loudoun County Animal Services and needs a new look for the new moniker.
“Our department has evolved so much over the years and we felt that our new name and mission statement, now more than ever, encompass all the services and programs we provide to the Loudoun community,” Animal Services’ Director Tom Koenig said in a recent statement. “We hope to find a new logo that will further demonstrate our commitment to excellence and to the community we serve. We know there are many talented artists/designers in our area and are confident one will create the perfect graphic for us.”
The current logo has been in use since 2003, and the department hopes to obtain modern, professional design submissions that reflect the name change, as well as the agency’s new mission and vision statements:

Koenig said the new logo would be used on signs at the Animal Shelter, staff uniforms and the department’s Web site. The winning designer will receive a plaque and recognition on a sign inside the shelter. The winning designer will be announced in local media releases, and on the department’s Web site and newsletter. More details and official contest rules are available here.
