Autopsy Of Woman Transported By Redskins Player Could Take Months

The autopsy of Julia E. Crabbe, 21, of Reston, is awaiting toxicology results, which could take several weeks or months.

ASHBURN, VA — The autopsy of a woman who died shortly after being brought to a hospital emergency room by two men, one of whom reportedly was Washington Redskins safety Montae Nicholson, could take months to finish, according to a Nov. 25 report by WTOP. The autopsy of Julia E. Crabbe, 21, of Reston, is awaiting toxicology results, which could take several weeks or months, a Loudoun County Sheriff's Office spokesman told WTOP.

Hospital officials said Crabbe was unconscious and unresponsive, suffering from what appeared to be a drug overdose, when she was brought to the hospital Nov. 14, WTOP reported. Loudoun County investigators are still unsure what happened before she was brought to the hospital by Nicholson and a second man.

Crabbe's family members are asking why no one called 911 on the night of Nov. 14 before driving her to the hospital emergency room. Family members showed up outside FedEx Field Sunday, before the Redskins played the Detroit Lions, to honor Crabbe and to express their belief that Nicholson should not be allowed to play for the Redskins while Loudoun officials continue the investigation into Crabbe's death. Nicholson played in the game against the Lions, recording four tackles.

One person familiar with the situation told The Washington Post that Nicholson and Crabbe were part of a group that went out to dinner Nov. 14 before returning to Nicholson's Loudoun County home. The person said the woman was later found unresponsive in a bathroom.

The person also said Nicholson and the other man waited at the emergency room until her family arrived.

Nicholson has not been charged with any crime. A search warrant of his Ashburn home allegedly turned up pills, marijuana and foil with residue on it, although it is unclear to whom the drugs belonged, according to WTOP.

In a separate incident, Nicholson was arrested last December after cameras caught the NFL player in a late-night street fight with another person.
