Loudoun Co. Coronavirus Update: 344 Confirmed Cases

There are now 344 confirmed cases of the new coronavirus in Loudoun County and five deaths, as of Tuesday morning.

LOUDOUN COUNTY, VA – There are now 344 confirmed cases of the new coronavirus in Loudoun County and five deaths, as of Tuesday morning.

The number of confirmed cases in the county jumped from 324 on Monday as officials continue to encourage residents to adhere to the temporary stay at home order put in effect by Gov. Ralph Northam.

Virginia now has 6,171 total confirmed cases of the coronavirus, with 978 hospitalizations and 154 deaths as of Tuesday morning. According to the Virginia Department of Health, 56 percent of cases in the state were at long term care facilities.

SCHOOLS

All schools in Virginia are closed through the rest of the academic year for in-person teaching in response to the coronavirus outbreak.

Superintendent Eric Williams sent a message to graduating seniors Monday, letting them know that an in-person graduation ceremony will be held "when it is safe to do so." Until a firm date is set, each high school with a graduating class will hold a virtual celebration of the Class of 2020 in June.
