Loudoun County Coronavirus Update: 498 Cases, 8 Deaths

There are 498 total cases of the new coronavirus in Loudoun County as of Tuesday morning.

LOUDOUN COUNTY, VA – There are 498 total cases of the new coronavirus in Loudoun County as of Tuesday morning, according to the Virginia Department of Health, with 59 hospitalizations and eight deaths.

To date, the county has tested 2,413 people and has had eight coronavirus outbreak across the Loudoun Health District.

Virginia now has 9,630 total confirmed cases of the coronavirus, with 1,581 hospitalizations and 324 deaths as of Tuesday morning.

SCHOOLS

All schools in Virginia are closed through the rest of the academic year for in-person teaching in response to the coronavirus outbreak.

A Loudoun County Public Schools staff member at Sterling Elementary School has tested positive for the new coronavirus, the school system said Monday. The staff member is self-isolating while they recuperate. MORE

Inova Health System is seeking recovered patients who could help those continuing to fight COVID-19, the illness caused by the new coronavirus.
