Man Assaults Cop In Ashburn: Police

A man was arrested Sunday after assaulting a cop while being arrested for a marijuana charge in Ashburn: Loudoun County Sheriff's Office.

ASHBURN, VA—A man was arrested Sunday after assaulting a cop while being arrested for a marijuana charge in the 44000 block of Natalie Terrace, according to the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office. Saif Quareen, 18, of Ashburn, was charged with felony assault on law enforcement, felony possession of marijuana and misdemeanor obstruction.

Shortly before 1:30 p.m., police went to the area for a report of suspicious people possibly smoking pot. While an officer was talking with one of the suspects, Quareen bolted from the scene. The officer followed him to the front of a shopping plaza, and Quareen then assaulted him while being arrested.
