Man Assaults Cop in Sterling: Police
A Manassas man who failed to switch off his high beams was pulled over and then exacerbated the situation: Louodoun County Sheriff's Office.

STERLING, VA — A driver who failed to turn off the high beams on his vehicle wound up making that offense pale in comparison to what followed after he was pulled over at Old Ox Road and Pacific Boulevard, according to the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office. Carl N. Gravette, Jr., 31, of Manassas, was charged with assault on law enforcement, resisting arrest, possession of a controlled substance (cocaine) and, oh yes, failing to dim high beams.
Around 9 p.m. on May 4, Gravette was pulled over for improper use of high beams. A search of the vehicle found drugs. He was taken into custody but at one point pushed away from a deputy and tried to flee. A short foot chase ensued before he was caught and again taken into custody.

But Gravette continued to resist, this time by kicking the deputy. There was no escape this time, though. He ultimately was released from jail on a $5,000 secured bond.
