Southbound motorists now have a fourth lane between Sterling Boulevard and the Dulles Toll Road: Northern Virginia Transportation Authority.

DULLES, VA — Southbound motorists on Route 28 near Dulles International Airport now have a fourth lane between Sterling Boulevard and the Dulles Toll Road, the Northern Virginia Transportation Authority announced Tuesday.

It's part of the agency's plan to reduce congestion in the area with several big-money construction projects.

Said NVTA chairman Martin E. Nohe: "This is a small, but significant step in implementing $114 million in improvements for the citizens and businesses relying on Route 28 every day."
