New Vaccine Site Announced At Loudoun County Elementary School
The Loudoun County Health Department will open a new coronavirus vaccine site next month through a partnership with the school system.

LOUDOUN COUNTY, VA — The Loudoun County Health Department announced that they will open a new coronavirus vaccination clinic on Saturday, Sept. 4 through a partnership with Loudoun County Public Schools. The new clinic will be located at Sterling Elementary School.
The new clinic will replace the county's clinic at Dulles Town Center, which will administer its final shots on Friday, Sept. 3. The Dulles clinic postponed its closing for a week to "provide a bridge to the planned opening of the alternate, smaller vaccination clinic," the county wrote in an update on Monday.
The new clinic will have reduced hours compared to the larger location in Dulles. The Dulles clinic was open to appointments and walk-ins on Tuesday, Friday, and Saturday this week.

Dr. David Goodfriend is the Loudoun County Health Director. "We are committed to being a COVID-19 vaccine provider for those unable to obtain vaccine through their medical provider or neighborhood pharmacy and we appreciate the partnership with Loudoun County Public Schools that makes that possible," Dr. Goodfriend said.

In a news release announcing the clinic, Loudoun County encouraged residents to continue to take mitigation measures to prevent the spread of the virus. Those measures include wearing a mask indoors, practicing social distancing, washing hands regularly, and staying home when you're sick.
"The COVID-19 vaccine is now widely available throughout Loudoun County from many providers, such as medical offices and pharmacies including, but not limited to, CVS, Giant Food, Harris Teeter, Safeway, Walgreens, Walmart and Wegmans," the county said in a news release. "The Health Department encourages everyone 12 and older who has not yet been vaccinated to visit vaccines.gov to find the vaccination site nearest to you, particularly if getting vaccine on a weekday is more convenient."
