Pedestrian Killed In Ashburn Crash Was In The Crosswalk: Police
Authorities said a 75-year-old woman was fatally hit by an SUV on Monday night as she crossed a street in Ashburn.

ASHBURN, VA — A woman died on Monday after an SUV hit her as she crossed a street in Ashburn, the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office said.
Authorities have only identified the pedestrian as a 75-year-old woman from Ashburn. They have not released her name.
The sheriff's office has not publicly identified the driver who struck the woman. As of Tuesday morning, no criminal charges have been announced.

The crash occurred around 5:45 p.m. on Monday at the intersection of Old Ryan Road and Hammersmith Place in Ashburn, the police report said. The pedestrian was using a crosswalk when a Mercedes SUV hit her. Investigators said the driver of the Mercedes stayed at the scene.
First responders took the pedestrian to an area hospital, where she died of her injuries.

"The LCSO is urging all drivers and pedestrians to take extreme caution when crossing and driving on the roadways," the sheriff's office said in a news release.
