Pedestrian Killed In Route 28 Crash Identified: Police
A 32-year-old woman was named as the victim in a fatal pedestrian accident Tuesday night.
CHANTILLY, VA – The pedestrian struck and killed on Tuesday night on Route 28 near Chantilly has been identified.
According to Fairfax County police, Fiona Hagengimana, 32, of Fairfax, was the victim in that crash. Police say Hagengimana was walking in the northbound lanes of Route 28 just north of Route 50 on Tuesday night shortly before 11 p.m. when she was struck by a vehicle. She was then hit by several more.
At least two drivers stayed at the scene, the Fairfax County Police Department said in a release. The department says detectives are still working to determine how the accident unfolded and to identify the vehicle that first hit Hagengimana, who was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say they don’t yet know if alcohol was a factor in the crash.
