Pedestrian Struck in Parking Lot Crosswalk in Sterling: Police

ASHBURN, VA — A pedestrian in a crosswalk was hit by a woman making a left turn Thursday in the 45400 block of Dulles Crossing Plaza, according to the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office.

The victim was taken to a nearby hospital with non life-threatening injuries.

The driver, Gifty A. Otetu, 38, of Potomac Falls, was charged with reckless driving, driving without a license and no vehicle registration.

Around 12:30 p.m., Otetu, driving a 2005 Acura MDX, turned left in a parking lot and hit the victim in the crosswalk.
