LOUDOUN COUNTY, VA — The seeds planted by volunteers at a Loudoun County nonprofit farm will later turn into food on the tables of food insecure families.

JK Community Farm at 35516 Paxson Road in Purcellville will host its 6th annual Plant-A-Thon on May 17 and 18. Over two days, volunteers will plant 52,000 seedlings that will be part of 130,000 meals for food insecure families. More than 500 volunteers are expected. The event is also a fundraiser for the nonprofit's work.

Individual volunteers as well as teams from companies, civic groups and sponsors were invited to volunteer for Plant-A-Thon. There will be Smokin Willy’s BBQ and music on site, and volunteers are invited to take self-guided tours of JK Community Farm as part of the Loudoun Farm Tours weekend.
