Loudoun sheriff’s deputies broke up a fight Saturday night near a busy intersection in Sterling and arrested a Maryland man for DUI and other charges.
Dylan R. Steiber, 20, of Bethesda, was driving a group of people to Maryland when he pulled over the vehicle near Route 28 and South Sterling Boulevard and got into a fight with the passengers, according to the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies responded to the scene at 11:07 p.m., separated the combatants, determined that Steiber was under the influence of alcohol, and charged him with DUI. As he was being placed in a sheriff’s cruiser, Steiber began resisting arrest and kicked at the deputies. He was then charged with two counts of assault on law enforcement and simple assault, the sheriff’s office said.
In addition, one of the passengers was determined to be wanted out of Maryland, the sheriff’s office said. Franco Navarro, 20, of Leesburg was taken into custody on an extradition warrant.
