Police: Gunshots Heard, But No Suspects Found

Witnesses hear shots fired; no injuries or damage reported, says Loudoun County Sheriff;s Office.

Loudoun police investigated reports of gunfire around midnight Sunday at a shopping center in Ashburn, but they found no victims or evidence of damage.

The police responded at 11:57 p.m. Sunday to a report of gunfire in the 43100 block of Broadlands Center Plaza, according to the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office. Witnesses said they observed an unknown male leave a restaurant and then heard several rounds discharged from a firearm.

The subject was described as a man with red hair and a beard, 6 feet 3 inches to 6 feet 5 inches tall, the sheriff’s office said.

The area was searched and several shell casings were recovered. The police also casnvassed the area, and no additional witnesses or potential victims were located, the sheriff’s office said.
