Police: Herndon Man Jailed for Thursday Night Stabbing

Woman hospitalized after fleeing from his vehicle in Sterling: Loudoun County Sheriff's Office

A Herndon man was arrested Monday night in connection with the stabbing last week of a woman in Sterling, according to the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office.

Jose F. Urbina, 59, is charged with malicious wounding and is being held at the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center on no bond, the sheriff’s office said. A Herndon police spokesman was not available for comment.

Urbina’s arrest stemmed from an incident Thursday night in which several witnesses reported seeing a vehicle pull into a parking lot in the 46900 block of Woodson Drive in Sterling, according to a police report. A woman fled from the vehicle, and the driver sped away from the scene.

The woman was determined by police to be a victim of a domestic-related assault and was suffering serious injuries from an apparent stabbing. Urbina allegedly stabbed the woman during an argument as they were driving around the area.

The suspect is known to the victim, the sheriff’s office said. The victim was hospitalized at Inova Fairfax Hospital with serious injuries.
