Police Release Video of High-Up Food Mart Robbery

Loudoun County Sheriff's Office: Suspect fled with cash but left firearm behind.

Detectives with the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office have released a surveillance video of the armed robbery Wednesday at the High-Up Food Mart in Sterling.

In the video, the suspect enters the convenience store, in the 400 block of Enterprise Street, shortly before 9:30 p.m. He brandished a firearm and demanded cash. The suspect is seen jumping over the counter and grabbing money from the cash register.

A few moments later, the cashier and a customer intervene and a fight ensues. After a brief struggle, the suspect fled the store with an undisclosed amount of cash, Loudoun police said. No one was seriously injured during the robbery.

The suspect, described as a black male, was wearing a red jacket, blue jeans, a black stocking cap and purple gloves, police said. The suspect was concealing his face with a blue bandana. His firearm was recovered at the scene.
