Postman Accused Of Entering Ashburn Home + Leesburg Burglary: Loudoun County Crime Report

Several crimes were reported around Loudoun County over the weekend, including a postman who was accused of entering a home in Ashburn.

LOUDOUN COUNTY, VA — A postman was accused of entering a woman's home in Ashburn last week, according to the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office. This incident is just one of the several incident's compiled in Monday's crime report from the sheriff's office.

The unlawful entry occurred at a home in Ashburn's Pickerelweed Terrace, authorities said. The incident happened around 2:40 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 22.

"The complainant reported that while she left her residence for a few minutes, the U.S. Postal Service mail delivery person was seen on camera exiting from the inside of her residence," the sheriff's office wrote in their report. "Nothing appeared to be missing."

The mail delivery person was charged with one count of unlawful entry. He was originally take to the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center before he was released on a summons.

Elsewhere in Loudoun County, some residents reported gunshots at their homes.

In Leesburg, a woman reported that she witnessed a bullet enter her home. "She heard a loud noise and reported she felt the bullet pass by her," the sheriff's office said. A bullet was found on the kitchen floor.

The incident occurred around 5 p.m. on Sunday at a home in the 43400 block of Lost Corner Road. Authorities noted multiple people were target shooting on a nearby property.

Another Loudoun resident also reported on Saturday that their home had been shot. "The complainant reported that he found a bullet in his bedroom that appeared to have entered through the window," the sheriff's office wrote in their report. "Upon investigation it appears as if the bullet entered through the window, hit a wall, and landed on the ground. It is unclear when the incident occurred."

Other reported crimes included a burglary that was reported at a home in Leesburg on Sunday. A caller reported that there was someone in his house in the 43300 block of Evans Pond Road. The caller also said that the person in his home was destroying things, according to authorities.

When deputies arrived on the scene, the victim told them that an unknown woman had left the area with items from the home. Deputies said they located a suspect nearby.

The Leesburg woman was arrested and charged with burglary and destruction of property. She was taken to the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center, where she was released on her own recognizance.
