Public Hearing Monday on Rt. 28 Plan Amendments
Proposed changes to planning vision for the corridor are at stake.

Portions of eastern Ashburn could see changes to the land use plans that guide future development, as the Loudoun County Board of Supervisors considers planning amendments along the Rt. 28 corridor, where many parcels have not drawn the business interest desired.
Two years after the board first decided to consider altering the vision for the corridor, the result of numerous meetings and work sessions is ready to be critiqued during a 6 p.m. public hearing tonight, Feb. 7, at the County Government Building, 1 Harrison Street SE, in Leesburg.
For information about the proposed comprehensive plan amendment, visit the county’s Web page, which offers the latest draft of changes to the corridor as well as numerous related maps.

Planners envision the Rt. 28 corridor as an airport-anchored gateway into Loudoun that offers a positive, welcoming business environment with the goal of promoting significant job growth and economic activity. The county also envisions the corridor evolving into a premier location for regional, national and international businesses with a high-quality image that offers employees vibrant centers of activity and highly integrated pedestrian- and transit-friendly employment developments.
