Smashing Walnuts/Giving Back

January is flying by and resolutions are hopefully in full-force. Once more resolution that I made was to do more volunteer/charity work. As a 7 year resident of Ashburn Village, I must take a moment to remind everyone that the Smashing Walnuts gala is this Saturday evening in honor of Gabrielle Miller. She was a student of one of our sister schools and a dear member of the Ashburn community. Take time out on the 25th to honor her and her brave fight by bringing national attention to pediatric cancer by initiating a hug Macy's letter to Santa campaign that Christmas. She even made it on the Today Show last year.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to all of those fighting cancer. Fight on and be brave. The community of Ashburn supports you.
