Principal and Student Council Advisor Carol Krichbaum is “elated that St. Theresa School student council has been recognized. Under the leadership of President Nick Romano and Vice-President Juliet Varblow, the council members have worked hard to implement and raise the standards of leadership. The council faced phenomenal challenges with fundraising for local and global causes, and most recently supported the democratic election process of the

2015-2016 Officers. This year’s Student Council represented the school well with their dedication and commitment. They are an exceptional group.”

To meet the requirements for the NASC National Council of Excellence Award, a student council must prove that it meets a variety of criteria. In addition to basic requirements such as a written constitution, regular meetings, a democratic election process, and membership in NASC, councils demonstrate things such as leadership training for council members, teacher/staff appreciation activities, student recognition programs, school and community service projects, spirit activities, goal setting, financial planning, and active participation in state and national student council associations.
