STERLING, VA — A pedestrian was reportedly struck in Sterling Friday evening by a vehicle whose driver then nearly hit another person who tried to stop the driver from leaving the scene by standing in front of his car. The person who stood in front of the car barely missed getting hit, according to the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office.
The suspect had fled the scene — near the intersection of W. Poplar Road and S. Sterling Blvd. —by the time sheriff's deputies arrived just after 6:30 p.m. Friday. However, the driver was later found and arrested by the deputies. The suspect, Misael A. Moya, 44, of Sterling, did not have a driver's license, according to the sheriff's office.
Neither victim in the incident, the sheriff's office said, was injured by the driver.
