Stone Bridge Football Runs Over Langley

Bulldog win advances team to next round of playoffs, gives Mickey Thompson career win number 200.

outrushed Langley 395 yards to 27 Friday night to sprint away with a resounding 35-0 Northern Region playoff win, and setup a tough matchup with the red-hot South County Stallions next Friday in Ashburn.

Stephen was unstoppable in the Bulldog rushing attack, racking up 248 yards and four touchdowns on just 23 carries. Stone Bridge's ground game was so dominant that they attempted just six passes all game.

The Bulldog defense completely shut down the Saxon offense, limiting them to just four first downs and 53 total yards on the evening.

The win was the 200th in Mickey Thompson's storied coaching career, and he and the Bulldogs will have a tough task ahead of them to make it 201. Next week's game against South County will be the Bulldogs toughest challenge for a regional championship in years. The Stallions enter the game riding an eight game winning streak, including victories over Robinson and last week's 31-0 blanking of Madison.

[Correction: This article has been corrected. The Chantilly Chargers were the only team to beat Stone Bridge this year, not Robinson. Patch apologizes for the mistake.]
