Tanker Truck Spill Snarls Traffic on Route 28: Media Reports
Backups are expected into afternoon rush hour, says VDOT.

Drivers on Route 28 should expect delays today as fire and rescue crews clean up the mess created by a tanker truck that overturned on an entrance ramp.
The accident occurrred Monday morning on the ramp onto northbound Route 28 from Route 606 (Old Ox Road), according to media reports. The driver was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries.

The tractor-trailer spilled tar onto the roadway, along with some diesel fuel and transmission fluid, Loudoun County fire officials said, WUSA-TV Channel 9 reported. Fire and hazmat crews quickly arrived on the scene, and the cleanup was expected to continue into the afternoon.
The north entrance ramp from Route 606 to Route 28, as well as the exit ramp from Route 28 to 606, are currently closed, the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) said.
