The Loudoun County Health Department has issued a warning about a possible rabies exposure after teens reportedly handled a bat.
The girls reportedly came in contact an injured or dead bat last Tuesday at the Potomack Lake Sportsplex in Sterling, according to the health department.
“Because bats can transmit rabies, anyone handling the bat potentially has been exposed,” the notice from the health department reads.
