Teen Dies Following Sterling Shooting

Police searching for two or three suspects seen fleeing the scene of shooting early Friday.

A Sterling teen has died from gunshot wounds in a shooting Friday morning.

Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office says it is searching for two or three suspects seen fleeing the area.

The victim, 17, was found after police responded to a call of multiple gunshots fired at 8:26 a.m. in the area of E. Cornell Drive and N. Duke Drive in Sterling.

The teenage male has been transported to a local hospital. Witnesses reported that two to three possible suspects fled the area on foot following the shooting. L

Loudoun Sheriff’s Office personnel, detectives and the Virginia State Police are on scene at this time.

Schools in the area of the incident have been placed on lockdown.
