Teens Injured In Loudoun E-Bike Crash Drove Into SUV: Report
A new report reveals more details about a serious accident involving an electric dirt bike earlier this month.
LOUDOUN COUNTY, VA – Two teenage boys who were seriously injured in an e-bike accident in Ashburn earlier in September drove their vehicle into the side of an SUV, according to a new report.
Loudoun Now, citing court filings, reports that the two 14-year-olds involved in the accident were driving a type of electric dirt bike legally considered to be a motorcycle, meaning it is illegal for someone to drive it without a license. Court filings claim the boys drove into the side of a Nissan Murano that had the right-of-way, blindsiding the driver, the outlet reports.
The bike was smashed to pieces and the boys were left with serious injuries, one with facial injuries and the other with multiple broken bones initially feared to be life-threatening. Both boys were declared stable shortly after the accident.
