ASHBURN, VA — A social media post on Tuesday showed threats towards Farmwell Middle School in Ashburn, according to the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office. An 18-year-old man from Fairfax was arrested and accused of posting the threats.

On Tuesday, the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office said they learned of a threat to Farmwell Middle School. Authorities did not specify the exact contents of the treat, but they said it included a photo of a firearm.

Detectives with the sheriff's office identified the person who posted the threats as an 18-year-old from Fairfax, Shane Lucas. During their investigation, detectives determined that the photo of the firearm used in the threat was pulled from the internet, according to a report from the sheriff's office.

Authorities did not find any firearms during a search of Lucas's home on Tuesday, the sheriff's office said.

Lucas is charged with one count of threats of bodily injury or death to persons on school property, a class 6 felony. He is being held without bond at the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center.

After authorities learned of the threat on Tuesday, security was increased at Farmwell Middle School. Additional members of the sheriff's office were on the school's campus, and school personnel limited restricted the school's entrances.
