Update: Cyclist Dies After Being Hit By Truck In Sterling: Police

A 64-year-old man from Herndon died as a result of injuries he suffered when a truck crashed into his bike in Sterling, police said.

STERLING, VA — A man died of injuries he suffered when a truck crashed into his bicycle in Sterling on Thursday morning, according to the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office. Authorities are still looking to speak with anyone who may have witnessed the crash.

Police identified the man as Salvador Guevara, a 64-year-old man from Herndon.

The vehicle that struck the cyclist was a 2005 Ford F-150 pickup truck, police said.

The crash occurred around 6 a.m. on Thursday at the intersection of Old Ox Road and Rock Hill Road in Sterling. The truck was turned left on a green light and hit the cyclist who had entered the crosswalk, police said. Authorities said the cyclist did not have any lights.
