2021 Best Of Braddock Awards To Be Given Virtually
Residents are invited to join the virtual ceremony for individual and group awards in the Braddock District.

BURKE, VA — Individuals and groups who have made a difference in the Braddock District will be recognized in a virtual ceremony Wednesday, Dec. 8.
Braddock Supervisor James Walkinshaw will host the virtual ceremony via zoom at 7 p.m. on Dec. 8. Awards will be given to the Braddock's Young Person of the Year, Braddock's Citizen of the Year, Organization Making a Difference, and Neighborhood Beautification, Enhancement or Community-Building Effort. A committee of Braddock District residents is selecting the award winners. Rep. Gerry Connolly (D-VA) is expected to join the virtual ceremony.
Last year's award ceremony had been halted due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

"Given the incredible demonstrations of community spirit and service seen during the pandemic, it's more important than ever the community come together to recognize individuals and organizations who have put in the work to make their neighborhood or broader community a great place to live," reads the event invitation from the supervisor's office.
