SPRINGFIELD, VA — A family of three was displaced after a townhouse fire in Kings Park on Sunday, Sept. 22. No one was injured, says Fairfax County Fire and Rescue.

Firefighters were called to the 8388 Uxbridge Court around 1:34 p.m. and found heavy fire in an end-unit townhouse. A second alarm was requested after units found the fire extended into the third floor and attic. Crews brought the fire under control and prevented it from spreading to the neighboring townhouse.

Two people were home when the fire broke out. One resident found a plastic storage bin on fire outside and tried to put it out. Both residents evacuated before firefighters arrived.
