Announcing the 22nd Annual Fairfax County Volunteers Service Awards

Save the Date! Friday, April 25, 2014

The 22nd Annual Fairfax County Volunteer Service Awards will take place on Friday, April 25, 2014 at the Waterford in Springfield, Virginia.   Established in 1993, the Service Awards serve as a community-wide celebration of volunteerism. Each year, Volunteer Fairfax and over 400 community and business leaders come together to honor individuals, groups, and organizations that are dedicated to improving lives in Fairfax County.

The 2013 Family Volunteer Award went to the Jenkins Family; Dave and Dianne Jenkins, and their son, Marshall.   Through their professional careers in social services, and their ongoing volunteer work at Our Daily Bread, Dave and Diane have truly devoted their lives to helping others. And, they have shared that love of service with their son.  “We are so glad that they found us.  It is hard for us to remember what we did before they came into our lives,” said Christina Garris Food and Volunteer Manager, Our Daily Bread.

The Jenkins Family is a perfect example of what the Fairfax County Volunteer Service Awards are all about. Volunteers play a huge role in the day-to-day operation of many local nonprofits.  Without the time and dedication given by people like the Jenkins Family, many community programs and services would not be able to function at full capacity.

Save the date!  Join us on April 25, 2014 for the 2014 Service Awards.
