The numerous parks in the area offer a wide range of activities to keep children and adults entertained and active, including jogging, camping, picnics, boating, miniature fair rides, and more. Burke Lake Park is a large public park which includes a golf course. Many activities and facilities are offered by the park. The Golf Club (north entrance on Ox Rd) includes an 18-hole par 3 golf course, a driving range, and a clubhouse with snack bar.

In addition, there are a number of seasonal events to look forward to when living in Lakepointe such as the weekday farmers markets during the summer, the September fall festival, and the October Pumpkin Playground.

When it comes to schooling, the Fairfax County Public School System includes White Oaks, Terra Centre, Fairview, Cherry Run, and Ravensworth Elementary Schools; in addition Lake Braddock, Robinson, and South County Secondary Schools; and West Springfield High School.
