Blaze Starts In Vacant Burke Home: Fire Department
A neighbor discovered the fire through the vacant home's window.

BURKE, VA—Fairfax County Fire and Rescue tackled a fire at a vacant home in Burke Sunday, Nov. 11. No one was injured.
Around 7:20 a.m., firefighters responded to the 5200 block of Dunleigh Drive. Crews found the fire in the walls and ceiling of a second-floor building. The fire was quickly brought under control.
No one was in the home when the fire started, but a neighbor noticed it through a window and called 911. Smoke alarms did not activate because of the fire's location.

Fire investigators determined an electrical event started the blaze in the attic space. Damages are estimated to be $55,000.
