Bomb Threat: Police Give 'All Clear' at School

Students were evacuated from the school Tuesday morning while police swept the building, a police spokeswoman said.

FAIRFAX COUNTY, VA -- Fairfax County Police have given the "all clear" at Lake Braddock Secondary School Tuesday morning, after a bomb threat was called into the school.

The high school is located at 9200 Burke Lake Road in Burke (see map below).

The threat was called in shortly after 10 a.m., according to police spokeswoman Officer Megan Hawkins.

The school had a fire drill to evacuate students, she said, while police swept the building. Skies Tuesday in the area are cloudy with temperatures in the 40s.

As of about 11:25 a.m. Tuesday, "everything is back to normal," Hawkins said.

Hawkins said she could not disclose whether the call that came in Tuesday morning was similar to calls that were made to numerous schools earlier this month across Northern Virginia. Those called-in threats were determined to be "robo calls."
