Greenspring Presents 204 Residents with Service Awards

Greenspring retirement community recently hosted its 7th annual President's Service Awards reception; 204 residents received awards for their volunteerism in 2011.

More than 200 resident volunteers were honored at 7th annual President’s Service Awards reception.

The President's Council on Service and Civic Participation, formed in 2003, introduced the President’s Volunteer Service Award program "as a way to thank and honor Americans who, by their demonstrated commitment and example, inspire others to engage in volunteer service."

Many of the residents at Greenspring volunteer by chairing or organizing one of 200+ resident-driven clubs at the community, participating as a member of the Resident Advisory Council, or by sharing their time and talent in some other way. Two hundred and three residents were honored with a President’s Service Award in either Bronze (100 - 249 hours), Silver (250 - 499 hours) or Gold (500+ hours).
