Michael Ritt Named Greenspring Executive Chef

Michael Ritt joined Greenspring retirement community as the new Executive Chef on Monday, July 9.

Michael Ritt recently joined as the new Executive Chef. 

The Executive Chef is responsible for five dining establishments in Greenspring’s independent living clubhouses including Fireside, Woodland Skies, Potomac Café, the Bistro and the Jefferson, as well as seven additional dining locations in the continuing care neighborhood at Greenspring. 

“I am a strong believer that there is always room for improvement and I will work to instill this in all aspects of the culinary department here at Greenspring,” said Ritt.

Ritt joins Greenspring from Union Jack’s British Pub, where he served as head of kitchen operations for the Arlington, Va. and Bethesda, Md. locations since 2008.  Prior to this position, Ritt held several executive chef positions in the D.C. metropolitan area, including at Elephant and Castle in Washington, D.C., Café Deluxe in McLean, Va., Rainforest Café in McLean, Va., and Planet Hollywood in Washington, D.C., among others.  Ritt received a Bachelor of Science degree in Food Service Management from Johnson & Wales University.
