Leadership Honored at Community Scouting Breakfast
Springfield's Greenspring retirement community recently hosted the 2011 Old Dominion District Scouting Breakfast.

Roy Ewers, owner of Fischer Hardware in Springfield, received the Community Leadership Award. In the past, Fischer has sponsored community events such as a March of Dimes 10K, Cub Scout classes, Eagle Scout projects, and Ladies Night Out events. In addition, he donated 200 gallons of paint to assist with rebuilding efforts after the devastating 2010 earthquake in Haiti.
Gerard (Gerry) Souser, III, received the Future of America Youth Leadership Award, which is given to a Scout who exhibits exceptional citizenship and leadership. With over 2500 Scouts in the Old Dominion District, the award is quite an honor. Gerry participates in the Boy Scouts of America at unit, district, and Council levels and has earned several awards for his service.
