Supervisor Cook Sponsors Braddock District Bike Day
All are invited to Lake Braddock Secondary School on May 28 for first ever Braddock Bike Day.

During the May 10th Board of Supervisors meeting, Braddock District Supervisor John C. Cook announced that he is sponsoring the first ever Braddock District Bike Day on May 28 at Lake Braddock Secondary School off Burke Lake Road from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. “This will be a great opportunity for kids and entire families to come out and prep for the summer bike season, have some fun and celebrate community,” said Supervisor John Cook.

Matching the theme of National Bike Month and National Bike to Work Day, Braddock District Bike Day will feature:

- members of the Fairfax County Police Department, who will discuss safety and offer an obstacle course, allowing riders to test their bicycling skills
- Representatives from the Fairfax County Department of Transportation’s Bike Division, who will be there with local bike route maps, promoting the trail and bike path system in the County
- Fairfax Advocates for Better Bicycling (FABB), who will have informational materials available and provide some tips on navigating the area by bike
- Bike mechanics from Oasis Bike Works in Fairfax, who will do inspections and routine tune-ups
