What to Expect During Your Bathroom Remodel

You've decided it is time jazz up your outdated, uncomfortable or unattractive bathroom.

You've decided it's time jazz up your outdated, uncomfortable or unattractive bathroom. Perhaps you've been unhappy with it since you moved in, perhaps you have grown tired of the style or flow or perhaps you're ready to turn your so-so space into a luxury retreat.

We know the feeling. Clients in Northern Virginia come to us when they want to renovate their bathrooms, create more storage and add the touches or elements they've seen in magazines, on TV or in other remodeled bathrooms.

For some, a bathroom remodel can feel daunting because it affects an important, high-traffic room in your home. To that end, we put together a quick list of what to expect and plan for during your bathroom remodel:

  • Plan to use a secondary or downstairs bathroom, if you will be updating the main or master bath. Make sure to have portable carriers that will allow beauty and other items to be available in the temporary space.
  • Adjust your schedules to accommodate for the sharing of one bathroom instead of the two or more you now use.
  • Get ready for some dust. As with any remodel, there will be dust and other dirt to manage during the installation. It will come to an end though, and we will help keep your home as clean as possible during your remodel.
  • Watch your new bathroom come to life as the cabinets, countertop, tile and other pieces are set in place.

Bathroom remodels are often transformative in that they breathe new life into a significant and shared family space, they can enliven the sleeping quarters of a home and they can create the spa-like 'getaway' you are ready to own.
