Bunnyman Brewing To Hold Weekend Birthday Bash In Burke

BURKE, VA — Bunnyman Brewing is hosting live music and food trucks and offering new beers at its Burke brewery this weekend to celebrate its first birthday.

Located at 5583 Guinea Road, Bunnyman Brewing opened a year ago, providing a much-needed brewery in the Burke area. Fairfax County friends Sam Gray and Eric Barrett named the brewery after the Bunnyman urban legend from the 1970s that involved a person in a bunny suit roaming parts of Fairfax County with a hatchet or axe.

The 1st Birthday Bash kicks off Friday with food from the Bratworks food truck and music by Shane Hines. Bratworks will be offering a $10 early bird special from noon to 4 p.m. Children will get chicken tenders, two sides and a SnoCone, while adults will get one brat or one burger and two sides. From 4 p.m. to 9 p.m., Bratworks' menu will include brats, burgers, German fare and SnoCones.

Shane Hines will perform from 7:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Friday.

On Saturday, food truck Wagon Wheel will have a special birthday menu and Roaming Coyote will be serving tacos and other food from its truck. Starryville will go on stage at 5:15 p.m. followed by Shane Hines at 7 p.m. Magician Bryan McDaniel also will be performing at 7 p.m.

Capping off the three-day birthday celebration will be live music by Hana Eid at 12:15 p.m. and Kara & Matty D at 2 p.m.

Food truck Kabob Mix will be serving kabobs and other Persian fare on Sunday, and Empanadas de Mendoza will be serving empanadas, fries and salad.

New Bunnyman Brewing merchandise will also be on sale during the three-day birthday celebration.
