Burke Scouts Host Annual Pinewood Derby

Cub Scout Pack 1965 held their annual Pinewood Derby on Friday, Jan. 27, at .

Forty-five scouts in first through fifth grade participated.  Each designed and built his own car and competed by den. In addition to the Scouts, siblings and adults -- including King's Glen Principal Sam Elson (with cars he built as a child) -- participated in the races.

Medals were awarded in two categories:

• Best Design (Show)
• Speed

First place winners were chosen in five divisions, and advance to the district-wide races on Saturday, March 3, in Fairfax.  They are:
